Campaign to Support Common Core
As you may know, CAPSS has been working with its Big Six Partners, CABE, CAS, CCER, CBIA and ConnCAN to support an effective implementation of the Common Core of State Standards in CT. Part of that effort is a Facebook campaign, the details of which are contained in the following statement, a version of which is being released today to the press.
As you know, CAPSS is committed to the proposition that every student in Connecticut deserves an education that prepares each one of them to lead decent and productive lives. So, the organization has been saying that in order for Connecticut’s children to receive such an education, the standards for their achievement have to be raised.
That’s why CAPSS has been working within the Big Six partnership which is composed of business, community, and education organizations across Connecticut to support high academic standards in public education. In doing so, we along with the other members of the partnership are supporting the efforts that are being made by educators across Connecticut to raise those standards.
