The New England School Development Council (NESDEC) has been retained by the Cheshire Board of Education to assist in the search for a new superintendent. The Board is looking for a candidate with a high level of education expertise, with the skills and ambition to lead a team of high-quality professionals, and who is focused on making a positive and lasting difference in the district. The new superintendent will be a hands-on administrator who will be involved in all aspects of the educational and community life of Cheshire Public Schools. Cheshire Public Schools provides education to a diverse population of approximately 4,400 students. Its schools include five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Cheshire Public Schools is focused on fostering the highest possible achievement for all of its students through the implementation of a K-12 personalized learning approach. In order to nurture learning at every level, the school system offers a strong K-12 curriculum, which is aligned across the schools. Staff continually work to ensure that children have the resources and support they need to learn and succeed. The educational program strongly emphasizes academics while recognizing the importance of the arts, technology, enrichment programs and extracurricular activities. The Cheshire Board of Education is offering a multi-year contract with a regionally competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
