Benefits of AASA Membership

AASA Your National Voice AASA provides a definitive voice in the legislative and political process and every AASA member is essential to the power of that voice. AASA makes sure your viewpoint is presented credibly to lawmakers while actively working to increase federal dollars available to local school districts, including funds for Title I and IDEA. Current softening of the NCLB's unworkable pieces of law is partly due to AASA's long-standing understanding of their implications and ardent opposition to them. AASA Protecting Your Profession Beginning July 1, every Active member will receive up to $10,000 in legal support from AASA, based on $1,000 per year for continuous AASA Membership. In addition, each Active member will receive $1 million liability protection as a benefit of AASA membership. You can't afford not to have this expanded coverage! On June 30th, AASA is making available to all members a Powerpoint presentation produced by Bruce Hunter and the AASA Public Policy department. This presentation will make each Superintendent an expert presenter regarding federal education policy and law. Members may use this presentation (with adjustable script) to show school boards, staff, civic groups and parents how federal policy is currently affecting the local district's efforts. Again, this unique presentation is for members only. AASA supports school system leaders in many ways. AASA Developing Leaders and Children "The mission of The American Association of School Administrators is to support and develop effective school system leaders who are dedicated to the highest quality public education for all children." AASA members count on the unique perspectives from around the country at each annual National Conference on Education, at increasing numbers of Web Conferences, special conferences for rural and suburban leaders, for women administrators, minority education leaders and more. AASA recognizes and awards school leaders and their schools, programs, communities and children. Join AASA now by contacting AASA or CAPSS at 860-236-8640.
